Movie VS Fanart - A Next Gen Picspam

Everyone is obviously very excited (or not!) about the DH Epilogue set photos that have appeared all over the internet over the last few days. So am I! Well... that's not entirely true. There are good things and bad things, and since pretty much everyone has been expressing their opinions about the next gen cast and the terribly old-looking parents, I thought I'd do the same. I, however, am going to do it a little differently and thought I'd compare the new next gen cast to my art :D Fun, huh? Well then, click the cut and tell me what you think *g*

Oh, and since most of my art is obviously NWS, I should probably warn for that. Even though there's really only one nipple fully exposed *dies* ;)

Hugo! You can't really tell what he looks like, but from behind he does seem to look pretty much like mini!Ron, doesn't he? My personal Hugo has thick curls, and his hair is less red and more... well, a reddish brown. But I have to say that I'm pretty satisfied with what I've seen of Hugo so far. He could be good, I think.

Rosie! I laughed when I saw that picture of what I assume is Rose. For years, I used to hate Rose because in my eyes, she was just the bitch that might steal Scorpius from Albus. Ahem. (Yes, I don't like Scorpius/Rose - get over it). But ever since I drew her for the first time, my opinion of her improved and... yeah. I like her now. I'm not sure I like the actor, though. Of course, in my opinion, Rosie is a bookworm who needs a makeover before she can... blossom, so on the other hand, this girl isn't all that bad. And just look! My child!Rose could turn into that girl a few years later! And then, when she gets even older, she'll either be a totally butch lesbian or she could even turn into my personal grown-up Rose. So... I'm pretty okay with this Rose.

Apparently that boy over there is Teddy. I'm not sure, though. But if he is... then I'm okay with it, even though I miss the blue hair! The blue/turquoise hair that's pretty much canon! Where is it? Of course it's entirely possible that they're gonna add a cool hair colour on the computer, so I'm not going to judge yet. The outfit and the casualty of that guy, though, do pretty much fit my image of Teddy. Add a few piercings and tattoos, a cool haircut and -colour, and we're all set.

Jamie! I never really pictured Jamie with brown, curly hair. He looks a bit like a hobbit, doesn't he? *dies* As you can see, my James has sort of auburn, straight hair and is a total hunk and beauty. I'm not sure this little guy really fits my image of James but I'm not completely disappointed either. And what's up with the fact that I've never drawn a good James pic? His face is never visible. Must change that *nods*

Lily! Doesn't she look completely adorable? I think I like this girl. She looks sweet and innoncent, just like I pictured her in the Epilogue. When it's her turn to go to Hogwarts, she could definitely turn into the cheeky, cool, beautiful and sexy heart-breaker we all know her to be ;)

YESYESYES!!! This Albus - this cute, sweet little Alby - is pretty much exactly what I pictured when I read him in the Epilogue. He's beautiful, he's cute, his hair is perfect and he looks just as worried and frightened as he should. Also, I just know that this guy will be gorgeous when he's older, so I approve completely. Finally the casting crew did a great job. I wish I could say the same about...

Scorpius. Ah, Scorpius, yes. Last night, I saw the pic from behind - which I thought was perfect. Okay, he has the same slicked back hair that Draco did in the first few movies. I don't mind at all - he was probably styled by the same house elf *dies* But then, this morning, I saw the other pics and now... I just don't know. His face looks a little chubby, and if you remove the blond hair, he could be a Goyle or a Crabbe. Haha, maybe that's mean. But... he's just not my Scorpius :( But who knows? Maybe he'll look differently in the movie. In fact, let's all not judge until we've seen the final result, okay? XD

THE ADULTS

Yeah. What to say to those pictures?

Bonnie looks okay. I've never liked her as Ginny and think they should've recast her before Halfblood Prince. I have no problem with Bonnie as a person but she's just not Ginny. She's not gorgeous enough, she's not cool enough... I don't know. But I think she looks okay in the new Epilogue pictures. The shorter, puffier hair makes her square face seem less obvious. She still looks too young to be those kids' mother, though. Hmm.

Dan. Oh Dan, what did they do to you? I approved of the first few pics I saw because he looks like his movie!dad. But then I saw other pictures and facepalmed. He looks old and... meh. Not like my Harry at all. But he's never been my Harry, so it's not really surprising.

Rupert. Rupert looks... old. There's really nothing else to say. And in one of the pics, he looks a lot like Arthur LOL! Which would be fitting, in a way. But... yeah. I just don't know. I think I'll just wait until the movie (or more pics) comes out until I form a proper opinion.

Emma. Yeah, where's Emma? We've seen one pic in which she looks completely normal, so... I can't really say anything about her.

Tom. *bursts into tears* Oh TOM, what did they DO to you??? Okay. So in my opinion, Tom looks way older than he is anyway. He has the receding hairline already but in the Epilogue pics, it looks like they moved it back even more! And what's with the beard? No self-respecting Malfoy would ever have pubes in his face! Seriously. I do like the outfit, though. Rawr. But seriously, why couldn't they just have made him look a little hotter? Like his dad, for example. Ugh. Seriously.

I also spotted a pic of Evanna and was wondering... What's Luna doing at King's Cross that day, huh?

Aaanyway. I think in conclusion, I can say that I'm pretty satisfied with the kids but horrified by the adults.

What are your thoughts? :D

Also, this little picspam made me realise that I need to draw next gen portraits. So that we can really compare them at some point.

I liked Tom in the first pic I saw of him. Then I saw the beard and just cringed. He looks too much like... a blond Wolverine *dies* Like I said - pubes. But yes, the ponytail is cute :D And the outfit too. I wonder if they'll show Astoria. I hope so! And I hope she fits my mental image of her *g*

And Rose... yeah. I was hoping for something a little more... I don't know. But there's hope. She could become reeeeally gorgeous when she's older XD

But I disagree with you on Rose. Not to be mean, but siriusly?! She's HORRID at Rose... And I'm not even going to START about the adults... I do kind of like the idea of Luna being included at the Epilogue scene. Evanna's awesome :P And Ginny/Bonnie looks great too. ALL the men look horrible in my opinion. On some pictures Draco/Tom actually looks about the same age as DUMBLEDORE for crying out loud!
I just LOVE the fact that your Al, who I've admired for quite a while, looks sooo similar to the movie!Al =D and YES! to more James hotness! and more YES! to next gen portraits!

They got Al just right, I can totally see him as the Al in my head when he gets older. Lily is totally adorable. I like that they chose a dark-haired James (not really a fan of him with red hair), but I hate the curls. He doesn't look anything like the awesomesauce James that's in my head. :(

Hugo's hair should be darker and curlier, and Rose - ugh. I'm sorry, but no. I don't like her at all.

Teddy is freaking awesome. He looks exactly like I picture him (from what I can tell, the pics are so blurry), and since I usually see him in my head with his natural hair color the lack of turquoise (which I hate anyway) doesn't bother me in the least.

Scorpius. Hmm, he kind of looks like one of those bully-type kids, doesn't he? :( And I could do without the slicked-back hair. My Scorpius is much messier and less of a Malfoy-family conformist. :\

Yes, Albus is definitely perfect. He looks so adorable, I just want to eat him up LOL! Lily is fine. James... I don't really picture him as a redhead either - more dark brown but with a red tint. And the curls... yeah. Like I said - hobbit ;)

And... yeah. Scorpius. I expected way more. Is it so hard to find a pretty boy with a slightly pointy face and blond hair? Is it??? Ugh XD

I agree that they got Al just right. I actually think the kids playing Hugo and Lily are adorable too.

I think Hugo and Lily are absolutely adorable. :) The only little thing that bothers me about Hugo is that I personally picture his hair a bit darker red and kind of curlier. But honestly, that's such a tiny little thing that it's easily overlooked for the cute. XD

I haven't seen many of the pics. Just a couple of Ron and Hugo....oh, and a glimpse of Emma with a suit.

I don't like spoilers at all but eveyrone is posting something and I can't resist.
But I won't look for more pictures at all. I don't like how the movies are. They don't respect the books at all imo, but considering my history with HP I can separate them and be happy with both individually.

The kids are pretty good! I didn't like how chubby Rosie looks. I know she probably hasn't been through puberty yet (I was quite fat myself and that changed after my first period), but nah...she's not the Rosie I imagined. I imagine her slim and tall like Ron. Ron's physic and Hermione's hair. My Hugo has auburn hair like yours too. But I like this cute mini-Ron ♥

James is pretty much what I imagined. I'd like to think of him as a redhead but I can't. My mind instantly takes me to this James-like guy. And Albus is a replica of Harry in first movie. *shrugs*

Lily is the only one I cna say is EXACTLY like I imagined =)

Scorpius is not that bad. A bit chubby too but the hair was awesome. At that age he's a mini-Malfoy and that's good. I think he changed after becoming friends with the Weasleys and Potters ;)

Haha, yeah. I'm not a big fan of spoilers either but I've been waiting for these pics for a long time, so I seriously couldn't resist :)

And yes, exactly. I hate many things in the movies but I still love watching them - because I can separate them and be happy with both individually. A friend of mine can't do that and it terribly annoys me to watch the movies with her because she's always complaining about every minor detail.

Albus is perfect! YAY! Just as I pictured him :) And Lily is adorable. Rose is pretty close to what I thought, too. But WTF Scorpius! I've only seen the shot from behind before and thought that, well, not perfect but could be worse... but his face! Eww, that's a Crabbe or Goyle or maybe a Flint kid, but definitely not a Malfoy :( WTF is wrong with the casting people?!?

As to the adults, most of them I can live with (Bonnie actually looked pretty good, IMO), although they look way older than they should, but Draco! Ugh, what's with the pubes on his chin? And the receding hairline... I hate JK for that! Tom Felton has never really been my Draco, but what they did to him in the epilogue... Considering how it's repeatedly said in canon how much Draco looks like Lucius, I was expecting something hot :( And they go and make him look old enough to be Jason Isaac's father and Dumbledore's brother :( How could they?

But yeah. I expected Jason Isaac-like hotness, and what do we get? Ugh. Seriously disappointed. But on the other hand - Dan isn't my Harry, Emma isn't my Hermione, Tom isn't my Draco, so... I can handle it ;)

NO! Scorpius! -sniff- He's all wrong! But at least Albus is the epitome of cute--even if his hair isn't black. :/ I squeed when I saw him. He is adorable.

I never really had much of an opinion on the other kids. I only really paid attention to Albus and Scorpius. But they all look good, I suppose. Rose definitely has that Hermione-Weasley-hair going on. And Lily is adorable.

The rest of them look good. I still haven't seen the older versions of the main characters yet. I need to look at those.

I have now seen older!Draco, older!Harry, and older!Ginny. I'm mostly disappointed. And seriously, what the fuck is up with the beard!!?!??!?!? NO! NO! NO! NO! FUCK THAT!

And Bonnie Wright looks cute. A good older. Very mom-like in fact. I still need to see the rest of the cast, but so far.... meh.

Oh, but Hugo is totally a mini Rupert Grint! He reminds me of him in the first two movies!!! Kawaii!!!

Scorpius IS all wrong :( But Albus is perfect, so... there's that, at least :D

2. I'm pretty unhappy with movie rose... course I do want her to steal scorpius from al... so sue me!!

3. Heart your most recent Teddy... I'm not convinced that picture is movie teddy. All the actors seems to be wearing red name tags... but the guy in the photo looks like he's wearing a 'staff' type of name tag.

4. They mad Ron FAT. Both he and Harry are losing WAY too much hair to just be 37. I hate Draco's look too. Just ugly... blah.

when i was first going through the posts on the lj comm, the one of the teddy-kid stopped me, and pretty much had me "WOW, That kid is cute. I hope he's not just some random kid in the transtation who the person taking photos thought was a cutie and just forgot to delete from her memory card!"
and then I was so exicted when the people in the comments were like "I think he's Teddy".

I love hte potter kids. I mean, in my personal canon, Lily is a red head, Jamie is .. not a bloody ginger, but has ~reddish~ hair? IDK. Genetics. Who needs them.

I am loving this kid as Jamie already, thouh. Since there was a video of Jamie, Albysevy, and I think either Rosie or Lily leaving the set (the people in the comments were saying that that was Rose, and that the bushy haired girl isn't Rose? IDK. I'm pretty sure the girl in the video I'm referring to wasn't Lily, though, since she looked older?)

the kid was totally mocking the teenagers who were stalking the set "YOU'RE STILL HERE?"

Albysevy is just so fucking adorable. I love that he was, like, the one actor on set looking around and [aside from insulting the stalkers] waving and shit. And smiling.

excite i'm pretty much the only person who thinks Emma's suit and hair are awesome. Everyone's saying she looks like a single woman in her thirties.

Everyone looks like they're in their 60s, rather then their late 30s though. I mean. IDK. Most of the people I'm attracted to are in their late thirites/early forties and uhhh they don't look like that.

Hell, even the ones i'm not attractd to, like, my parents, and their friends and shit, don't look like that.

I wasn't happy about Jamie at first but he's totally adorable and I think he has the James attitude :D So that's good. And the hair... well, Dan never had black hair either, so I'm not all that pissed off about that :D

And yeah, the girl in the picture above isn't Rose; they posted a new video of the REAL Rose and she looks a bit more suitable :D

Albus... I can't get over how freaking cute that kid is :D I want him *steals him*

And Scorpius is not Scorpius! Last night I saw a video and there he had a red tag on his shirt - and red tag apparently means that he's Scorpius' double :) So we still haven't seen the real Scorpius and... but yeah, this one was already growing on me too but I still hope that they have someone a little... I don't know, more Malfoy-esque for the real Scorpius :)

And yeah, the adults. No idea what to say to that XD I like that they kept the actors but they could've done a way better job at making them look older. But like I said - it's entirely possible that they'll look better on screen later, so I won't judge :D
