O___O

I just spent more than half an hour at the post office, sending:

- 8 Christmas cards to European countries
- 16 Christmas cards overseas
- 3 DVD packages
- 2 other packages

and now:

- I'm poor
- My tongue hurts (LOL)
- The man at the post office thinks I'm insane

Seriously, though. €63 to send all that??? Maybe I'll just send e-cards next year. No wonder that no one writes traditional letters anymore - it's too damn expensive! XD

Also, I had to lick... 40 stamps. Because the international letters need TWO stamps D:

BUT at least the Christmas cards are FINALLY sent, and I can... rest. Phew.

I need a drink. LOL!

PS. TELL ME WHEN YOU RECEIVE MY CARD!! Pictures would be even better! *g*

At the risk of sounding bitchy, but if you don't tell me when you get it, you won't get one next year :)

Haha, I know what you mean =)
I actually mailed off some cards today, too!
Worst thing is when they don't reach the destination though, I have like, 4 cards that most likely didn't get there :(

And the man at my post office was like, "who are you sending this to? Your boyfriend?" LOL.

[identity profile] thilia.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 02:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahahaha, no, he was just giving me odd looks because I had to fill out this thingy for the packages to the US about what's in the box - and I couldn't remember the French word for 'teddy', so I asked him and he gave me that LOOK and I blushed and felt like an idiot, hahaha XD

Ugh, yeah, I hope mine arrive *worries*

Oh, I got yours! I think I already told you XD

[identity profile] diamondairways.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 03:03 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL! Well, my postman def. thought it's all about boyfriends haha, then he asked me if it's true that I'm moving. I was like, "....yes." Idk how he even KNOWS that info. So now I think post guys are weird.

Yes, you've told me =D I'm glad at least like, half of my cards made it, but the others...:S There's still hope though!

Good luck with yours!

[identity profile] thilia.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahahahaa, nice! And... okay, that's a little creepy O_o XD

And what I hate even more is when people don't tell you they've received your card! It's the least they can do. So I'm going to add that to my post and anyone who doesn't tell me won't get one next year LOL :D

Thanks! <3333333

[identity profile] diamondairways.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah lol, stalker alert! XD

Oh, they do that? Okay, I'll wait till like, Monday then maybe I'll ask them if they received one. But you're right, it's great when people let you know they got the card =)

Welcome <3

After all that... you deserve a drink!! :D

[identity profile] thilia.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahaha, thanks! *raises glass* ;)

[identity profile] bendleshnitz1.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, poor Anne *cuddles*
Mail shouldn't be so freaking expensive. Seriously, if they want mail to keep existing, they should lower the prices.
Now I feel guilty for contributing making you poor and your tongue feel funny.
Next year, e-card. Or a simple post saying "Happy Holidays". I'd still love it.

P.S.: I think I'll be out of the city when my card arrives. They take more or less fifteen days, I think. But when I get home, expect pictures!! :D

[identity profile] thilia.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, awww, there's no need to feel bad *pets you* :) Besides, the cards were the least expensive - it's the packages and boxes that cost the most. <3

And no problem :D Also - 15 days? Ugh, I'm such an idiot and should've sent them weeks ago, right after I finished them! XD

[identity profile] bendleshnitz1.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, yes. Those are like super expensive here =/

Don't worry, hun! Not your fault. People in Europe and the US will get them way sooner. It's just me that leaves at the bottom of the world, lol

[identity profile] scarletladyy.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I know what you mean! I was surprised at the price too, but I think it's totally worth it :D I'm excited to get your card, and I'll definitely let you know when I get it! :D

Although I'm away from the 22nd - 27th, so it's not my fault if it comes during that time and I can't let you know 'till the end :P

[identity profile] thilia.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
No problem :D I think pretty much anyone has the decency to thank people for the cards they receive; I just felt like mentioning it *g* So don't worry, even if you confirm the receipt a little later XD

<3<3<3

[identity profile] unlikeothers.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's pretty mental, not surprised he thought you were tapped LOL

Then again I can't really say anything to be fair. I sent a card to the Netherlands and a present to Australia then five days later went and sent another present to Australia so you know, craziness comes with online friends xD

[identity profile] thilia.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL! :D Well, he shouldn't complain. I gave him money, so he should just accept that and be grateful XD

Haha, so true <3

[identity profile] mornings.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, that's a fuckload of money. O__O And suddenly I doubt the truth of the post office lady's claim that my normal, letter-sized cards can go all the way to e.g. Australia with only one €0.80 stamp...

[identity profile] thilia.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL! Hmmm... I don't know. The overseas stamps for me were €1,10, I think...

[identity profile] enchanted-jae.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
In the US, it costs 98 cents (just under a dollar) to send a standard letter or postcard overseas. It's slightly less to send one to Canada or Mexico.

[identity profile] mornings.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I know a regular letter/card costs 55 cents within Finland and 80 cents to other EU countries, which is why I thought it was weird that the post lady said it costs the same to e.g. the States and Australia, too. But still, 98 US dollar cents is roughly 80 euro cents, so... *is confused by numbers*

Haha :D And it's fine <3 I know how great it is to receive cards, so I like doing it <3

[identity profile] enchanted-jae.livejournal.com 2010-12-17 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
...don't you have sticker-style stamps?!

I spent $50 on postage when I mailed the bulk of mine, so yeah. I feel your pain. Except for the tongue pain, that is. *loves sticker!stamps*

[identity profile] thilia.livejournal.com 2010-12-18 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Weeeee... did, I think. But not anymore, apparently. So yeah, I got to lick 40 stamps. XD

[identity profile] sugareey.livejournal.com 2010-12-18 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Post is ridiculous these days, isn't it? I do have to say it has definitely been a very expensive Christmas, with me spending at least $700 on cards and gifts for family. So I reckon that's even more in euros! UGH.

It's the international cards that are evil with postage! Bahh!

[identity profile] thilia.livejournal.com 2010-12-18 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, it IS ridiculous. Ugh D: And whoa, you've certainly spent a lot of money! Oo

[identity profile] kseenaa.livejournal.com 2010-12-21 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, gawd I sent so much more than that. And yes, it very nearly distroyed my Christmas economy. :-/ Way to expensive to send stuff the traditional way. :-P

[identity profile] thilia.livejournal.com 2010-12-22 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. They should just let us send stuff for free - especially around Christmas XD

On the other hand... that's probably when they make the most money ;D
