H/D Worldcup Recs!
Apr. 12th, 2009 03:57 pmI'm sooo behind on reading
hd_worldcup fics but since I posted my last rec post last Sunday, I thought I'd do it again today :)
Team Epilogue
Fiction
: : . Some Secrets Are Best Kept by
curia_regis : : Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy were enemies. Everybody accepted this as fact until Elias Skeeter revealed the truth. [Rated R]
--- This was a unique idea, and the author did a great job at writing it. Despite the fact that it is told by an OC, it held my interest until the end and actually made me cry a little. Loved it.
: : . Hemlock by
i_claudia : : When Harry finds out that the manager of James's Quidditch team is none other than Draco Malfoy, old memories begin to surface, threatening to take his attention away from the things that are supposed to matter. [Rated PG-13]
--- Everyone knows I'm not a big Ginny fan. But this one actually made me feel for her and Harry. It deals with a serious topic and handled it absolutely fantastically. One of my favourites, so far.
: : . Fate in His Hands by
okydoky : : Harry Potter disappeared two years ago in very mysterious circumstances. When Draco Malfoy finds him, he can't give up the opportunity to get one up on Harry Potter, but as usual he finds himself over his head. [Rated NC-17]
--- Finally something with a little smut in it! :3 LOL No, I really liked the fic because I just like that kind of story. I know that's very vague, but I just don't want to give away too much, don't want to ruin anything for anyone, so... Read it :)
Art
: : . A Scar On My Mind by
harrysde : : Draco can't forget his school-day rival. [Rated NC-17]
--- I already found this completely stunning when I saw it the first time; even when it wasn't finished. It's just... really beautiful; both the art itself, and the meaning behing it.
Team EWE
Fiction
: : . Harry Learns A Lesson
tmkline : : Harry is helped to prepare for a guest lecture at Hogwarts. [Rated PG-13]
--- A short, fluffy fic. While fluff's usually not my cup of tea, I really liked how Draco recounted the events of the war in this one.
Art
: : . Wherever You Are by
eloriee : : There are some things that will always belong to them. [Rated R]
--- I love the softness of the drawings because it fits the melancholy atmosphere.
Team AU
Fiction
: : . Primum Mobile, or Ten Forgotten Things by
kirinin : : The truth: Logic isn't in the lump in his throat, in his stuttering pulse. He needs the certainty of his name on someone else's lips, which means he needs Malfoy... [Rated PG]
--- This is a really interesting AU. Extremely well-written and it makes you a little sad and happy at the same time. Really loved it.
Art
: : . Cruel Language by
nk_aoede : : Sometimes you don't notice something until it's too late to do anything about it. [Rated PG-13]
--- So beautifully cruel... The drawings are (as usual) absolutely beautiful, and the story is just heartbreaking. I'll definitely go back to this to look at it again.

Like I said; there are some (really long) fics I haven't read yet; five, to be precise, so they'll be in my next rec post. I wish I had more time to read. Aargh ^^
