Whoops, I'm super behind on this already. Gotta make sure to update every day, since I wanted to avoid having to answer all the questions in one go :p

Questions and Day 1 are here.

03. A movie you quote on a daily basis.

I don't really quote anything on a daily basis, considering I don't really speak English in real life... and I think if I do quote something, it's usually TV shows. I don't know. And by quoting I don't mean throwing out wise~ quotes or anything, but just randomly saying lines from movies.

So I guess if I had to pick one, it would be... um, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, maybe? I don't know.

04. Favorite movie soundtrack.

Don't even get me started!

• The Lord of the Rings
• Pirates of the Caribbean
• Sense & Sensibility
• Pulp Fiction
• Walk The Line
• Cold Mountain
• Chocolat
• Edward Scissorhands
• Benny & Joon
• Cruel Intentions
• Legally Blonde
• Music & Lyrics
• Elizabethtown
• Queen of the Damned
• Velvet Goldmine
• Freaky Friday
• Kill Bill
• Pulp Fiction
• La Boum

The list gets longer if I include movie musicals!

• My Fair Lady
• Hair
• Repo! The Genetic Opera
• Rocky Horror Picture Show
• Mamma Mia!
• Moulin Rouge
• The Wizard of Oz
• Sweeney Todd
• Phantom of the Opera

So. Yeah. I like movie music, what can I say? ;)

05. Top 5 films of your favorite actor and actress.

I DON'T KNOW EVEN WHO MY FAVOURITE ACTOR AND ACTRESS ARE ANYMORE. I'm too obsessed with boybands, I have no time for actors lol

But I guess I could go with some all-time favourites...

Johnny Depp

• Edward Scissorhands
• Benny & Joon
• Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
• Secret Window
• Chocolat

Meryl Streep:

• It's Complicated
• Julie & Julia
• The Devil Wears Prada
• The Hours
• Prime

06. Top 5 performances of your favorite actor and actress.

So I'm gonna take the same actors, I guess? Hmmm...

Johnny Depp

- What's Eating Gilbert Grape?
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Ed Wood
- Secret Window
- Edward Scissorhands

Meryl Streep:

- Julie & Julia
- Sophie's Choice
- The Devil Wears Prada
- Out of Africa
- Kramer vs Kramer

07. A movie storyline you wish you had actually lived.

Oh god, there are so many. From The Devil Wears Prada to Gone With The Wind, I want to be the protagonist in every movie ever. Well, maybe not the ones where something really bad happens, but... 0:)

08. A movie that reminds you of your mom.

Pretty much every movie I've ever seen, but especially older ones. She's introduced me to most of the wonderful films from the 30s, 40s, 50s, etc. that I've seen, so those obviously remind me of her. Other than that, also the ones I've mentioned for the first question because I've watched and rewatched most of those with her.

But if I had to pick a few films specifically, I guess It's A Wonderful Life, Some Like It Hot, The Philadelphia Story, Legally Blonde, Forrest Gump... See?? I can't limit myself to just one.

09. A movie that reminds you of your dad.

I honestly can't think of even one? lol I don't think I've watched many movies with him, if any. TV shows occasionally, yeah, but no movies, really?

10. Favorite movies from your childhood.

:)))

• The Little Mermaid
• Beauty and the Beast
• Lady and the Tramp
• Cinderella
• Sleeping Beauty
• Bambi
• The Swan Princess
• Thumbelina
• Land Before Our Time
• A Little Princess
• Fantaghiró
• Amy und die Wildgänse
• Jumanji
• Mrs Doubtfire
• Hook

Etc. etc.~

11. Favorite quote(s).

I... I... Ugh, I can't pick, I'm sorry.

12. Top 5 favorite female performances.

These questions are so hard! I've seen so many movies, how am I supposed to pick? I guess the easiest thing to do would be to look at Oscar nominee lists but... instead I'm just gonna pick whoever comes to mind right now.

And it all depends on whether we're talking about performances that "touched" me or that made me laugh. So... I'm just gonna do a mix of both.

• Audrey Tautou in Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain
• Meryl Streep in Julie & Julia
• Katharine Hepburn in anything
• Diane Keaton in Something's Gotta Give
• Jennifer Lawrence in Winter's Bone

13. Top 5 favorite male performances.

• Josh Hutcherson in Winged Creatures (Fragments) and Bridge to Terabithia
• Andrew Garfield in Never Let Me Go and Boy A
• James Stewart in Mr. Smith Goes To Washington (or anything he's ever been in, really)
• Cary Grant in Arsenic and Old Lace
• Johnny Depp in anything

14. Favorite year for movies.

I honestly have no idea. I haven't watched many recent movies, to be honest, so I'm just gonna go with a time when I still did watch a lot of movies, and that would be between 2003 and 2005, I guess?

So I found this giant movie meme on Tumblr, and I think I'm gonna turn this into a 30 Day Meme or something and try to answer two questions every day! Since no one on Tumblr ever asks me stuff, and I really want to try to answer all these questions, I'm gonna do it here, so I think that's a good solution~ :)

01. A movie you’ve seen most times in cinema.

I think that's probably Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, which I saw three times at the cinema, as far as I remember, as well as Harry Potter and the Halfblood Prince, also three times. Or two, I'm not sure. But those are the two that I remember definitely seeing more than once or twice.

02. Your most rewatched movie.

Oh god. I have a whole bunch of movies that I've watched countless times, so I'm just going to list the ones that come to mind. I've lost count of how many times I've seen these:

- When Harry Met Sally
- Pretty Woman
- Legally Blonde
- Muriel's Wedding
- The Family Stone
- Love Actually
- The Holiday
- Sabrina
- Gone With The Wind
- Some Like It Hot
- Hair
- Pulp Fiction
- Kill Bill
- Harry Potter
- Lord of the Rings
- Pirates of the Caribbean

There are probably others but those are the ones I rewatch on a regular basis.

I've watched about five horror movies in the last three days or so, and I'm back in a horror phase, I think, so... I need recs! Or discuss! What are your favourites? Which ones are the scariest? Which ones do you think I absolutely HAVE to see? I've seen a lot, but I want more, so... gimme! :)

There are many that I watch every single year around this time :)

❥ The Holiday
❥ Love Actually
❥ The Family Stone
❥ Bridget Jones's Diary
❥ It's A Wonderful Life
❥ Miracle on 34th Street
❥ We're No Angels

I have a feeling I forgot a few, but those are the ones I'm sooo looking forward to watching again :)

Maybe I'll do it even more hardcore this year, and will also watch every Christmas episode of every TV show I love... haha :D

As you might know, I have a huge DVD collection. HUGE. So this weekend, I was reorganising it and came across a few movies that I want to get rid of - not because the movies are crap or the DVDs damaged, but just because I don't think I'll be watching them again - and because I need to make room (and money) for new purchases ;)

Instead of putting them on Ebay right away, I thought I'd give you guys the list - because who knows? There might be something that you've always wanted and I could give it to you for a good price :)

Most of these DVDs will have a German or French cover, but with the exception of ~5 movies, they original English version of the films are on the DVDs. Most of these are Country Code [2], but there are some that are [1]... I don't know.

Anyway, if you think you might be interested in one of these DVDs, let me know and I'll give you details about the languages, subtitles, country code, etc. and how much I'd want for it.

It depends. Sometimes I get very angry - like when I watched the Keira Knightley version of Pride & Prejudice, because it just wasn't Jane Austen at all! I missed Darcy's "In vain I have struggled, it will not do. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you!" and just wanted to hide for a week when I heard movie!Darcy's declaration of love. I mean, seriously? I just hate that movie and I think Jane Austen would die all over again if she saw it. BBC version = love. Movie version = hatehatehate.

On the other hand, I don't really mind changes cause I know they're inevitable. I actually prefer the LOTR movies to the books cause they have the "spirit" of the books without being too long and boring. And while I feel the need to analyse the Harry Potter movies every time a new one comes out, and compare them to the books, I don't really mind the changes all that much.

Most of the time, I don't really care all that much if they change the story a bit in the movie, but what I can't stand is when they butcher a character and make them do things that the original character would SO not do.

Only one? There are several, actually.

- Gone with the Wind
- Love Actually
- The Lord of the Rings
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- The Philadelphia Story
- Pride and Prejudice (BBC mini series)
- Dirty Dancing
- Muriel's Wedding
- When Harry Met Sally
- Bridget Jones's Diary

I bet there are more, but those are the ones I've seen at least 10+ times.

What can I say? I love those, and no, I will probably never grow tired of them :)

Day 02 - Favourite Movie )

Enchanted!

Jan. 3rd, 2008 04:48 am

I'm exhausted. Didn't get much sleep last night (went to bed rather late since I was busy reading fanfics) and had to get up early too to take my car to the garage and... yeah. And now I spend another few hours reading another fic which is so great but so extremely long too (I'm halfway through and there's not even a hint of slash in it yet-- which doesn't mean it's not good!) and... once again, I can't seem to stop. In case you're interested in which one it is... it's called Draco's Boy , it's AU and it is so gooood!

Went to see Enchanted today! It was sooo good. Eversince I discovered that trailer I was so eager to see it and it hasn't disappointed me in the slightest. It was funny and incredibly romantic (made me "awww" all the time) and... just Disney. And I love Disney. And Patrick Dempsey. And James Marsden. And the soundtrack, had to download it immediately. Anyway, it was just a refreshingly great film.

I really need to sleep now, it's past 5 am again *head desk*
thiliaarchive: (Default)
Today I watched Velvet Goldmine and I looooooooooooooooved it! Definitely one of my favourite movies now. I mean... just take a look at the cast list. Ewan McGregor, Jonathan Rhys-Myers and Christian Bale. (And Toni Colette.) What more could you want? Plus, they're wearing tight, feminine clothes and sexy glitter make-up and the music is awesome. There's some boy snogging and pretty naked men... It's just brilliant. I immediately had to make some icons. 'm going to post them some day.
Apart from watching that film, I didn't do much today. Got up at twelve and did absolutely nothing.

I love those LJ communities like fanart100, icon100, lovers100, fanfic100... I'm thinking about joining one or two of those but the thing with me usually is that I never finish a project like that. I'm considering just starting to draw (or write) and then join when I already have some of the drawings (fics).

Everytime I see my mood theme, I have to smile.
