Fandom Snowflake Challenge - Day Six

In your own space, rec at least 3 fanworks you thought you wouldn't like (because they weren't your fandom or they pushed against your boundaries or you thought you just wouldn't be interested) and that you ended up loving.

This is hard because... well, I have no boundaries. LOL! :D

The thing is, I read pretty much anything when it comes to TH, so technically, I can't rec TH fic here. As for HP... I haven't read that much HP fic, except for the submissions for my fests, and... pretty much all of those pairings were pairings I do like. So... I guess I will skip this question. :)

Fandom Snowflake Challenge - Day Seven

In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Maybe you will grant a wish.

1. More Tomstav fics! Or more Gustav fics in general. Gustav/anyone is just unf. :D

2. More Pottercest fics and art! There can never be enough of that!

3. For people to comment on fics when they read them. It doesn't cost much time if you just leave the author a brief 'nice!' or 'well done!' or 'that was hot!' after you've read a fic. I'm tired of seeing fics get so many reads and only 3 comments. Don't be lazy - review!

Fandom Snowflake Challenge - Day Ten

In your own space, talk about a creator. Show us why you think they are amazing.

There are many under-appreciated authors/artists in fandom, I think, which is why I'm not going to talk about a "BNF" here. They get enough praise and comments, and most people know them anyway.

Instead, I'm going to talk - or squee - about teganscrush! :D

I know. I'm predictable, and, according to her, a little biased, which I don't think at all. I just recognize talent when I see it! ;)

This might get a little rambly and unstructured, but... I'll try my best to make some sense.

Anyway! She may not be the most productive author and pop out a new fic every few days, but I absolutely love her writing and I'm lucky enough to get to read it every day - in RP, where she always surprises me with the hottest/funniest/sweetest/saddest replies ever. We've written five fics together so far and have many more in planning, and none of them would be the same if I'd written them on my own.

The cops!verse stories, for example, are as great and hilarious as they are because of her Gustav. Patty was entirely her invention, as was the captain, Oma and Opa, Eugenie and her fellow bad guys. In fact, all of our RPs are as good as they are because she's a brilliant writer, and writing with her makes me a better writer too!

I first discovered her work in... 2007, 2008, I think, when I first got into Albus/Scorpius. In fact, I think her Something Worth Waiting For was one of the first AS/S fics I've ever read and is still one of the best fics I've ever read; not to mention Behind These Walls, which was sadly never finished but was such a great and well-written fic... and something completely new and different. <3

After we started RPing, I checked out the rest of her fics; some older H/D ones, for example, and fell even more in love with her writing. Her hd_worldcup (2009, I think?) fic is one of the most hilarious things I've ever read. She rocks at angst AND humour, which is not something everyone can do. Her characters always make my knees weak, and... guh. XD

But not only her HP fics make me squee - she's also written a few really good TH fics, with hopefully many more to come.

It's no secret that I adore her, but I really also admire her as a writer, and... everyone else should, too! :)
